Plastic Surgery Disaster Stories: The Stalking Cat (Dennis Avner)

Too much fascination of tigers became the reason for Dennis Avner, a computer programmer and a Navy veteran as a Sonar Technician of Nevada, USA to transform himself looking like the very creature he loves. It was said that another reason why he opted to go under the knife to look like a tiger is because he was inspired after he talked with Native Chief to follow the ways of a Tiger. He spent huge amount money to achieve this goal and he eventually got what he wanted.

The modification of his face included extensive tattooing on his face, piercing of his upper lip and the use of transdermal implant, facial sub dermal implants to change the shape of his forehead and brow, flattening of his nose via septum relocation, filing and capping of his teeth to have a more feline-like appearance, silicone injection in his lips, cheeks, chin, and other parts of his face and finally Bifurcation or the  splitting of his upper lip.

Because of this amazing change in his physical appearance, he was a recognizable figure in his hometown and he was often featured in some TV shows such as Ripley’s Believe It or Not and Guinness Book of World Records who named him as "the most permanent transformations to look like an animal" In fact, his appearance made him a celebrity, and he travelled to many different countries, appearing at live events and on television programs.
